Chemical description
(To be edited, initial data ST OCT 04) Oral prodrug to adefovir that is an acyclic nucleotide phosphonate analogue, which intracellularly is converted to adefovir diphosphate, inibitor of viral polymerases. Used, tabl 10 mg/d, in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B in adults with signs of liver engagement. The risk for CYP related drug interactions is considered low.
