Rationale
Beta-blocker, only metabolised to 40-50%. No data pointing to CYP-inductive properties. Occasional clinical observation of tolerance.
Chemical description
Beta-receptor blocking agent. 50-60% excreted in unchanged form by the kidneys, 50% metabolized (CYP 2D6 and 3A4) in the liver and then excreted in urine. Normal dose can nevertheless be given patients with liver failure. Thunell, patient report (n=1): tolerated. EPI: safe (betablockers).
