Rationale
Endogenous prostaglandin. Low dose. Probably insignificant hepatic CYP metabolic load.
Chemical description
(DINOPROSTONE) Endogenous prostaglandin F2 alpha in vaginal gel (0.5- 2 mg /dose) used for cervix maturation and induction of labour. Short half life. Inactivated on passing the lungs. Metabolized by beta oxidation. Substrate for CYP 4F8. Inhibitor of CYPs 2B6 and 2C9.
