Non-aromatic valine derivative. Non-CYP dependent metabolism. Did not induce ALAS1 in rat. One reference: use.
Chemical description
Antirheumatic mercaptovaline derivative, used in serious cases of RA where conventional treatment is without effect. Metabolized to disulfide and cystein disulfide, as well as mercaptovaline and methylpenicillinamine. Inhibitor of CYP 3A4. South African list: use.
