Partly absorbed. Substrate for CYP 3A4, 3A7 and 11B2. Selective inducer of CYP 3A4. Vast experience and several references indicate non-porphyrinogenicity of glucocorticoids.

Glucocorticoid used as clysma in proctitis and ulcerating colitis. About 40% absorbed. Metabolized mainly by CYP 11B2 and 3A4. Selective inducer of CYP 3A4. South African list: use.
