Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) – vitamin.
Chemical description
Pyridoxine is the 4-methanol form of vitamin B6.
Therapeutic characteristics
Pyridoxine is indicated for the treatment of vitamin B6 deficiency and for the prophylaxis of isoniazid-induced peripheral neuropathy. It is also used in combination with doxylamine or other antihistamines in the treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. It may be administered orally, or by intravenous or intramuscular injection (DrugBank, DrugDex).
